Understanding the COVID-19 Vaccine:

There are a few options for your COVID-19 vaccine. Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine is FDA approved for people aged 16+. Two initial doses of the vaccine are required for complete vaccination, plus booster dosing after the initial doses.

The Moderna vaccine requires two initial doses to be fully vaccinated and is available for ages 18+. Booster dosing is available after the initial doses.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires one dose for full vaccination and is available for ages 18+ and booster doses are available as well.

The COVID-19 vaccine does not contain the virus.

The flu vaccine differs from the COVID-19 vaccine, and both are encouraged.
COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects
You may experience minor side effects after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, which are common signs that your body is building up protective antibodies from the virus. Mild side effects include pain at the injection site, fatigue, headaches, muscle and joint pains, and fevers.

COVID-19 Home Tests Available
At-home COVID-19 tests are now available for patients ages 3 and older. Based on your insurance provider, you may be able to receive up to 8 tests per month so you can receive the care you need in the comfort of your home.
